Currently supported by 93 volunteers, the initiative seeks to strengthen community participation in cultural life whilst fostering international cooperation and skills development through to the end of 2027.
The exhibition featured representatives from 27 countries, 310 companies, and more than 5,000 industry professionals.
The Liepāja 2027 Foundation (Liepāja 2027), in collaboration with RTU Liepāja Academy, has launched a new lifelong learning course titled “5 Steps to a Good Event”.
On Wednesday, 4 February, the fifth meeting of the Liepāja 2027 Supervisory Board took place at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia, where key issues regarding the progress, achievements and next steps of the European Capital of Culture programme were discussed.
The Liepāja 2027 Foundation (Liepāja 2027) has announced an open co-financing competition for projects that would add a spark to the core Liepāja 2027 programme series “Rock the Rock” in 2027. Applications must be submitted by 7 April 2026.
The main goal is to get people to create new cultural and entertainment events that will go with the official opening celebrations and give residents and visitors a good cultural experience all evening.
In the final week of January, Justīne, public participation project manager at the Liepāja 2027 Foundation (Liepāja 2027), took part in the “Leadership for Green Transition” training in Zadar, Croatia, together with 29 other youth workers from across Europe.
In 28–29 January, Liepāja 2027 and colleagues from the city, took part in “Filmlink” project working visit to Tartu. The project is part of the Interreg Estonia–Latvia Programme and is set to make a significant contribution to the growth of Liepāja’s creative industries.
Representatives from Spain, Belgium, Portugal, Slovenia and other European countries participated in the event. Detailed information was provided regarding future cooperation opportunities and available funding for projects in the period from 2026 to 2027.
