Liepāja Featured on Intrepid Travel’s 2027 Not Hot List
9 September 2026 – Liepāja, Latvia, has been named in Intrepid Travel’s annual Not Hot List, recognising ten of the world’s most exciting, under-the-radar destinations to watch in 2027.
The Foundation “Liepāja 2027” (Liepāja 2027) is looking for a Technical Assistant to join its team.
The Technical Assistant’s main responsibility will be to support the practical and technical preparation and delivery of Liepāja 2027 programme events. The role includes coordinating technical activities, compiling information and documentation, communicating with suppliers and service providers, managing inventory records and logistics, as well as providing practical support with event installation and dismantling.
We offer a full-time, on-site position in Liepāja at Dārza iela 4/8, with a gross monthly salary of EUR 1,300.

The main objective of the Foundation “Liepāja 2027” is to ensure the successful preparation for the European Capital of Culture title in 2027. Between 2024 and 2028, a diverse programme will be delivered, including cross-sectoral events and activities contributing to the city’s socio-economic development, attracting international attention, encouraging tourism, developing the creative industries sector, and implementing collaborative projects with the public, private and non-governmental sectors. The programme will also attract funding from a variety of sources, including European Union funds and the private sector.

In August 2027, as part of the “Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027” programme, the international “Zenta Mauriņa Summer School” will take place in Southern Kurzeme, conceived as a space for dialogue and collaborative artistic activity.
The Liepāja 2027 Foundation is inviting everyone regardless of age or place of residence to take part in the creation of “Fabrics of Reality”, a new work by the internationally acclaimed Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota (塩田千春), by writing a personal letter that will become part of the finished installation. Letters will be accepted until 30 November 2026.
