Interactive Exhibition “Baltic Amber Takes the World by Surprise”

The Liepāja Museum, pairing up with international partners and museums in Latvia, Lithuania, Germany, Poland, France and Croatia, as well as private collectors, presents a monumental exhibition tracing Baltic amber from the Stone Age to modern era. It follows amber’s journeys across continents and traces its role in different cultures.

The exhibition includes artefacts never before shown in Latvia, each having its own story. A catalogue, meetings with project partners, museum specialists and researchers, in addition to masterclasses and education sessions, add further layers to the experience. The project encourages knowledge-sharing, creative engagement and the international recognition of Baltic amber.
