“Agora of Values” Discursive Event Series. Forum: “Rest in (un)rest”. Project cluster “Agora of Values”

“Agora of Values” is a four‑part forum series at the heart of the European Dream programme line, inviting participants to examine and creatively imagine the values that shape the future of Latvia, Europe and the world. The forums bring together international experts and artists to discuss themes such as peace, democracy, technological development and humanity’s relationship with nature.

In 2027, the forum “Rest in (un)rest” asks a simple but demanding question: how do we maintain peace in unsettled times? The programme looks at peace on three levels – inner, social and international – encouraging reflection on how people coexist with themselves, with others and with the world during periods of uncertainty.

The forum draws inspiration from Immanuel Kant’s ideas about humanity’s ability to rise above destructive tendencies for the sake of a shared future. Mental‑health specialists, philosophers, social scientists and international‑relations researchers join artists and musicians in a space where science and art together explore paths towards inner, social and global peace.
