The Liepāja 2027 Foundation is announcing an open co-financing call for the implementation of events within the Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027 programme. The call is designed to inspirit the (un)rest programme with contemporary, high-quality cultural events created in partnership with independent organisations from across Latvia. From June 12 to 14, the International Symposium “ElektrON – The Future of Amber” took place in Liepāja and Pāvilosta. The event brought together artists, researchers, curators, designers, and cultural historians from Latvia, Lithuania, Norway, Germany, Hong Kong, and Canada.

Liepāja Concert Hall Great Amber and The Andrejs Žagars Cultural Development Foundation on May 26, 2027 will present the legendary Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and its artistic director, the world-famous and beloved Maestro Andris Nelsons live in concert – featured in the “Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027” programme.
On the summer solstice, Saturday, June 20, from 10:00 – 18:00 a community cleanup event will take place at Polīšu Ravine in Vārme Parish, Kuldīga Municipality, as a part of the public participation projects in the “Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027” programme.
