Liepāja Offers Nine Summer Events to Promote Restoration and Sustainable Living
The series of events is held under the European Institute of Innovation and Technology’s (EIT) “New European Bauhaus” (NEB) project “From Know-How To Do-How” and is implemented in Latvia by the Liepāja Restoration Centre in cooperation with the Foundation “Liepāja 2027”.


“Nordic Solstice” to Light Up on the Eve of Līgo with Baltic and Nordic Traditions
As the sun reaches its zenith and ancient fires prepare to blaze once more, Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027 invites locals and guests to welcome the magic of the summer solstice with a celebration of Baltic and Nordic unity. On 23 June at 19:30, “Nordic Solstice” will unfold in Seaside Park and on the beach combining solstice traditions, nature rituals and music.

Mission (un)rest: Volunteer Programme Officially Launched in Liepāja
Officially launching the Volunteer Programme, more than 40 participants of Liepāja 2027’s “Mission (un)rest” gathered on 14 June at the Liepāja Latvian Society House to learn about the significance of the European Capital of Culture title, its vision, and the upcoming journey ahead.


To celebrate the summer solstice, a special night event for young people – “Ravegrieži” – will take place in Kuldīga
As a result of the Liepāja 2027 Youth Pilot Project idea competition, a unique solstice night event called Ravegrieži will take place on June 20, the eve of the Līgo festival, in the heart of Kuldīga – at the hangar on Piltenes Street 25a. The event will run from 21:00 to 02:00, offering a one-of-a-kind experience in the spirit of the summer solstice.


Renewable Resources Design Workshop – International Masterclass in Liepāja with Jakob Niemann
As part of the Capacity Building program supported by “Liepāja 2027,” an international design masterclass titled “Renewable Resources in Material-Based Design Approach” took place in May this year at the Liepāja Music, Art and Design Secondary School.
