On October 9, at Jānis Čakste Square, as part of the “Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027” programme, the open-air photography exhibition “One Day in Liepāja 1987–2007–2025” was opened, inviting visitors to travel through time and see Liepāja and its people across different decades.

On October 9, 2026, in Liepāja, as part of the “Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027” programme, an open-air photography exhibition titled “One Day in Liepāja 1987–2007 – 2025,” which, through images taken in three different years, will reveal the life of the city and its people over the course of half a century.

On November 4, the Great Amber Concert Hall in Liepāja will host the Liepāja 2027 international conference “Cultural Renovation”, held under the theme “All My Relations”. he Liepāja 2027 Foundation invites everyone to contribute to The Fabric of Reality, a new artwork by internationally acclaimed Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota, by writing a personal letter that will become part of her installation. Until 16 October, visitors can write their letters at a dedicated letter-writing station on the first floor of the National Library of Latvia.

The Liepāja 2027 Foundation is inviting everyone regardless of age or place of residence to take part in the creation of “Fabrics of Reality”, a new work by the internationally acclaimed Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota (塩田千春), by writing a personal letter that will become part of the finished installation. Letters will be accepted until 30 November 2026.
