
This Thursday, on 14 October, representatives of Liepāja cultural organisations met in the “Great amber” concert hall for a workshop targeted to research and attract audience.
The workshop was held in two parts.In the first part, there was an opportunity to exchange experience with international experts who have participated in the preparation of several European Capitals of Culture applications, including Kaunas 2022, Tartu 2024 and Oulu 2026 – Neil Petersen, Nadja Grizzo and Hanns Dietrich Schmidt.
The discussion touched issues such as implementation and planning of the European Capitals of Culture program, the role of cultural organisations, producers and NGOs, the cooperation of organisations with foreign partners in the framework of the European Capital of Culture and other topics related to the European dimension.
The second part gathered representatives of various cultural and event-planning organisations took part in a discussion on increasing the audience of cultural, sports, entertainment and educational events in Liepāja and the challenges related to it.
Signe Lonerte, Marketing and Communications Director of the “Riga Jūrmala” Festival, shared her experience on how to better measure the results of events and audience growth.
The discussion and the workshop were held strictly following all epidemiological safety measures.
