Invitation to Participate in a Study by LAC and Liepāja 2027 on Cultural Consumption Habits in Liepāja, South Kurzeme, and Kuldīga Regions

This concert performance “Personal Code: Liepāja” is designed to symbolically and emotionally capture the essence of Liepāja – its identity, core values, and spirit.
During the visit, participants explored two outstanding libraries in Bodø – “Stormen Library,” and “Nord University Library”.
Marking International Volunteer Day, the President participated in a discussion with volunteers of the “Liepāja 2027” foundation who have applied to assist in carrying out various cultural activities.
This journey became a vibrant adventure that combined a love for culture, collaborative creativity, and the formation of new friendships.
The Liepāja Region Tourism Information Office also experienced heightened activity, welcoming 6,374 visitors in Q3 2024. Of these, 60% were international tourists, while 21% were Liepāja locals and 19% were Latvian visitors.
The aim of the research is to explore in-depth the sense of place among residents of Liepāja and surrounding regions.
The festival will take place in Liepāja, Latvia, in August 2027 and will be organised in close cooperation with the Latvian Song Celebrations Society and Foundation Liepaja 2027.
They have prepared an elegant and refreshing program, including Maurice Ravel’s Piano Trio, Felix Mendelssohn’s Second Piano Trio, and Peteris Vasks’ “Landscapes of the Plain.”
The program’s special guest, pianist Vestards Šimkus, will enhance the evening with music by Italian orchestral color master Ottorino Respighi.
