At the heart of the project lies the theme of climate variability – the wind, the waves, and their constant fluctuations, reflected in art both visually and emotionally.
The programme will feature several public events: an opening symposium with artist presentations and nature data visualisations, creative workshops, and artist residencies during which five artists or collectives will create environmental installations. An international symposium will also explore the topics of wind, waves and the challenges of the Anthropocene.
By the end of 2027, five environmental artworks will appear in Liepāja’s urban space, inviting the public to reflect on climate change issues while serving as artistic testimonies of our time. A digital exhibition catalogue will also be produced as part of the project.
