Voting Campaign for the Values Behind “Human Forest”, Public Engagement Opening Event of Liepāja 2027
M 12-10-2026
The urban art exhibition “No Promises” zeroes in on community as a web of relationships that is constantly shifting. It is a reminder that community is like a living, breathing ecosystem where nothing is set in stone and no outcomes are guaranteed.
It features eight brand-new street-level artworks that shine a light on how we come together and just how fragile those bonds can be. It is all about treating art as a proper ongoing dialogue between us and our surroundings.
From 1 to 6 June 2027, Liepāja’s streets will play host to “How to Garden a Community”. It is a week-long participatory programme with workshops, performances, activities and pop‑up events encouraging collaboration and shared experiences.
Artists presenting new works include Aigars Bikše (Latvia), Justin Charles Hoover (USA), Rebecca Korn (Great Britain), Anastasia Shneps‑Shneppe (Latvia), Linda Boļšakova (Latvia), Gundega Evelone (Latvia), Laimdota Malle (Latvia), Inta Ruka (Latvia), Skuja Braden (Latvia/USA) and Juozas Laivys (Lithuania).
