Plan your trip:

“A Walk Through the Town’s Stories” is all about preserving and promoting the well-established over several decades’ oral heritage in Kuldīga. The project has two parts.

From 23 to 24 April, the international storytelling festival “Ziv zup” brings together storytellers from Latvia and across Europe, who will invite us to pay attention to oral stories from Kuldīga, Kurzeme and Europe, comparing traditions and finding shared threads in oral culture.

From 23 April, the “Teiku taka” storytelling trail opens in Kuldīga’s Old Town. Using a printed or digital map, visitors can follow a route with eight attractive stops – story post-boxes. Each stop has one story tale to read or to listen about Kuldīga’s oral heritage, available in Latvian and English.
