South Kurzeme Municipality Conference “Kurzeme Culture Forum”
10-09-2026 | 09:00
The 4th Kurzeme Culture Forum will take place on 10 September this year at the Kazdanga Parish Cultural Centre.
The Kurzeme Culture Forum has become an annual regional event that brings together cultural professionals and enthusiasts to inspire one another, learn about current developments in the sector, strengthen collaboration, and discuss key issues in cultural development. The theme of the 2026 forum is “Cultural Growth: People.”
Cultural Growth is a process that reflects continuous development, growth and transformation, beginning with each individual and, in turn, creating a richer and more vibrant cultural environment. This year’s theme places the spotlight on People.
People are at the heart of everything. We, as cultural professionals, are the ones who think, question and create. People are also visitors, participants in cultural experiences, consumers, co-creators and voices that shape attitudes and perspectives.
Individual growth contributes to the growth of the wider community. For this reason, development is needed at every level, starting with ourselves, our perception of the world and our openness to it. Times change, as do the ways in which culture is experienced and consumed, and technological progress continues to advance, but people remain. Ever-changing, diverse, active or passive, emotional, sometimes difficult, always seeking something.
This year’s forum will differ from previous editions by offering a wider range of activities. The programme will include personal experience stories, keynote addresses, engaging and informative mini-lectures, discussions and think tanks.
