This Poetry Days reading programme encourages children to welcome reading experience as a lively, creative and experience‑based process.
The programme treats reading as discovery – not a duty, but a joy, a game and a way of learning that naturally becomes part of daily life. It creates environments where text becomes an adventure and poetry becomes a bridge between language, imagination and exploring the world.
Poetry is presented as a form that allows language to move and resonate, giving children the chance to encounter text through reading, listening, acting and creating.
With the help of this programme, we hope that literature will move beyond its usual settings and meet children in places familiar to them – in the urban environment, in nature and within the community.
