“Found in the Old Library” is a tribute to the 250th anniversary of Liepāja City Library and offers an interdisciplinary approach to exploring its historical collection. It highlights the library’s role in the city’s cultural and intellectual life, revealing its heritage from a fresh perspective.
An exhibition presents stories behind unique historical materials in an accessible way, and a bibliographic catalogue of early printed books provides insight into the library’s collection.
The project concludes with an international academic conference dedicated to the anniversary, emphasising the library’s importance in the city’s development and within Europe’s intellectual landscape.
