Where rest meets unrest, stories are born. In the spirit of this paradox, the Liepāja 2027 Foundation invites bold ideas for cultural tourism through its open competition “Land of (Un)rest, Tell Us Stories!” – a call to reimagine how visitors experience the region during Liepāja’s year as European Capital of Culture. Deadline for submissions: 23:59 on 1 December 2025.

The goal of the residency open call is to invite artists to innovate and develop impressive installations for subarctic conditions, and create an art piece for the official art program of the Frozen People festival 2026. The residency will take place from January 28 to March 3, 2026. Application deadline: December 12.

To help applicants prepare their project proposals for the cultural tourism competition “Land of (Un)rest, Tell Us Stories!”, the Liepāja 2027 Foundation (Liepāja 2027) invites interested parties to an informative seminar on Monday, 10 November, at 16:00 in the Great Hall of the South Kurzeme Regional Council (Lielā iela 54, Grobiņa).

The City of Lublin is opening a recruitment process and inviting artists from the CreArt network to apply for a four-week artistic residency in Lublin, taking place from November 5 to December 6, 2025.

The Liepāja 2027 Foundation is opening applications for an international youth training and mentoring programme for the 2025/2026 academic year, aimed at young people aged 14 to 24 from Liepāja, South Kurzeme and Kuldīga.

To enrich the programme of Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027 with innovative, cross-sectoral, contemporary and outstanding cultural events, hence boosting the international cooperation, the Liepāja 2027 Foundation is launching an open international competition for the co-financing of cultural and artistic initiatives. The deadline for submissions is 10:00 a.m. (EEST/Latvian time) on 10 September 2025.

Kristaps Priede works in painting, sculpture, and environmental art, which includes Land Art and Site-specific Art, where artworks are created for a particular location. In addition, Kristaps also engages in performance and photography.

The CreArt network invites applications for an artist residency in Regensburg, Germany from 20 October to 14 December 2025.

Applications for the project competition will be open for two weeks – from 11 August until midnight on 25 August. Submitted projects will be evaluated by a jury, with results to be announced on 15 September.
