The FILMLINK project strengthens regional film development in South Estonia and the Liepāja region by fostering cooperation between two film territories. The initiative focuses on enhancing the professional capacity of regional film funds, improving data-based decision-making, and creating stronger cross-border film communities.

On Wednesday, November 12, the Ambassador of Japan to Latvia, Mr. Kensuke Yoshida, visited the Liepāja 2027 office as part of a working visit.

From October 27 to November 11, workshops for the project “CreArt Contemporary Art in Schools” continued at Liepāja Rietumkrasts Secondary School. Under the guidance of artist Maija Demitere, students explored one of the oldest photo printing techniques — cyanotype.

On Monday, November 10, in Grobiņa, at the Great Hall of the South Kurzeme Municipality Council, the Liepāja 2027 Foundation held an informational seminar about the cultural tourism co-financing competition “Land of (un)rest, Tell Us Stories!”. The event was attended by 63 participants.

On Saturday, 8 November, the Liepāja 2027 Foundation launched the second season of its international youth training and mentoring programme for the 2025/2026 academic year. This year, 24 young people from Aizpute, Grobiņa, Krote, Kuldīga, Nīca, Priekule, and Liepāja have joined the programme.

With two monumental concerts and the audience’s thunderous standing ovations on November 7 and 8, the tenth anniversary of the Liepāja Concert Hall “Great Amber” was celebrated.

From 7 to 9 November, the European Choral Association (ECA) held its General Assembly, “Membership Weekend 2025”, in Girona, Spain. Alongside the Song Festival Association, Diāna Daiva Priediena, Executive Producer of Liepāja 2027, also participated in the event.

To nurture a stronger sense of belonging across the entire Land of (Un)rest, the second round of the community strengthening and support programme “Neighbourliness”, organised by the Liepāja 2027 Foundation, will begin this November.

On November 4, Inta Šoriņa, CEO of the Liepāja 2027, spoke at the international scientific conference “Cultural Crossroads” organized by the Latvian Academy of Culture.

On Thursday, 30 October, the Ministry of Culture convened the fourth meeting of the Supervisory Board for Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027.
