The workshop included insights into the historic “Samaritan Book” – a 12th-century binding pioneer – and practical sessions where participants crafted two unique bindings.
With a city guide, we embarked on an insightful walking tour, visited the Industrial Museum and the Chemnitz State Museum of Archaeology (SMAC), and met skilled artisans in their studios, discovering the creativity of the region.

Launching the month of Liepāja’s 400th anniversary celebration, the Liepāja Holy Trinity Cathedral on Saturday, 1 March 2025, at 17:00 will host a sacred music concert, “Caur gaismu nāk un sudrabs top” (Through Light Cometh Silver Shine).
This competition was launched to inspire the creation of an innovative and artistically refined environmental object that integrates seamlessly into Liepaja’s urban landscape.
Next year marks a significant milestone for Liepāja – a celebration of 400 years that bridges the city’s storied past with its present and future.
Participants will document their cultural activities over the course of one month.
This concert performance “Personal Code: Liepāja” is designed to symbolically and emotionally capture the essence of Liepāja – its identity, core values, and spirit.
During the visit, participants explored two outstanding libraries in Bodø – “Stormen Library,” and “Nord University Library”.
