Environmental Awareness Programme “Nordic Solstice”

Traditional Latvian wisdom is tied straight to the apron strings of nature, the turning of the seasons, and living in sync with the great outdoors. It is about treating Mother Nature as a living, breathing system that deserves respect. In this project, natural ecosystems are not just put under a microscope; they are seen as a bedrock of our culture and daily lives, whose preservation is a shared responsibility.

The Nordic Solstice environmental awareness programme is inviting everyone to come and take a closer look at nature’s diversity and why it matters so much, while giving us all a gentle nudge to pull our weight for future generations. The talks focus on biodiversity and sustainable conservation, while workshops offer the chance to learn traditional skills using natural materials.
