During the Liepāja City Council meeting on 23 April, city council members approved the appointment of Kristīne Liepa-Prese as the Board Member on Financial and Legal Matters of the “Foundation Liepāja 2027”.
Kristīne Liepa-Prese holds a professional bachelor’s degree in finance and professional qualification as a financial specialist from the BA School of Business and Finance at the University of Latvia. Her previous professional tenure includes serving as the Deputy Director for Finance and Development at the Arts and Education Competence Centre “Liepāja Music, Art and Design High School”, and the position of Chief Accountant before that.
An open recruitment procedure for the position of the Board Member on Financial and Legal Matters of the foundation “Foundation Liepāja 2027” was held from 10 March 2026 to 23 March 2026, A total of three applications was received.
The vacancy arose following the departure of the former incumbent, Eva Ciekurze, who elected to vacate the post for professional reasons.
The executive board of the foundation is comprised of a Chairperson and two Board Members.

The first event — the public discussion “Spawning is not a buffet” — will take place on April 25, 2026 at 4 PM on the Venta riverbank at the end of Ventspils Street, opposite the Kuldīga viewing tower. The event will conclude with a campfire concert.

From April 7 to 16, Silva Vucena and Elīna Jurberga, representatives of the Liepāja Central Scientific Library, participated in the international mobility program “Culture Moves Europe” visiting Évora, Portugal, for an experience exchange.
