On Friday, 9 October, the Liepāja 2027 Foundation (“Nodibinājums Liepāja 2027”) entered into a partnership with SIA “Transporent”, the SIXT franchise partner in the Baltic States and Finland. As part of the partnership, SIXT becomes Liepāja 2027’s mobility partner, providing transport solutions for the Liepāja 2027 team, programme partners, artists and guests until the project concludes at the end of 2027.
Convenient and efficient mobility will be particularly important in 2027, when an extensive cultural programme will take place not only in Liepāja but also across South Kurzeme and Kuldīga municipalities. The partnership will make it easier to reach programme venues and give international guests greater opportunities to explore Liepāja and the surrounding region.
“As we prepare for 2027, mobility is one of the key prerequisites for delivering large-scale projects. Our team needs to travel to various programme venues, meet with partners, welcome international artists and guests, and transport the equipment required for events. Reliable and flexible mobility solutions are therefore essential to our work. We greatly value our partnership with SIXT, which will help streamline these day-to-day activities and provide practical support for the preparation and delivery of the Liepāja 2027 programme,” says Inta Šoriņa, Chair of the Board of Liepāja 2027.
As part of the partnership, the Foundation will have access to a fully electric vehicle for its day-to-day needs throughout the collaboration period, until the end of the project. In addition, the Liepāja 2027 team, partners and visitors to the city will be able to access a wide range of SIXT mobility services, including car, passenger minibus and commercial vehicle rentals, offering convenient transport at preferential rates.

The partnership was symbolically marked during the launch of the Liepāja 2027 programme, when Ivo Skribis, Head of Marketing for SIXT in the Baltic States and Finland, ceremonially handed over the car keys to Inta Šoriņa, Chair of the Board of the Liepāja 2027 Foundation.
