International Choir Festival “Europa Cantat 2027”

The 22nd “Europa Cantat” festival is one of Europe’s largest gatherings for amateur choirs, bringing together more than 3,000 singers, conductors, teachers and music lovers from across the world.

Throughout the festival week, the whole of Liepāja bursts into life with concerts, sing-alongs, grand opening and closing ceremonies, and guest performances. Over the course of the week, participants have more than 35 masterclasses led by outstanding conductors and learn a mix of musical genres, swapping cultural stories, and opening new musical horizons.

The festival aims to champion the amateur choir movement by opening up grand avenues for collective harmony, learning, and cross-cultural camaraderie – enriching the cultural tapestry of Latvia and Europe, whilst putting Liepāja firmly on the map as a hub for world-class musical affairs.
