In today’s busy daily life, more and more garden owners are looking for ways to create a garden that is both beautiful and easy to maintain. This lecture offers a practical and easy-to-understand guide to designing a sustainable, low-maintenance flower garden — from the initial idea to planting.
Topics include how and when to properly prepare the soil, how to improve it according to the needs of different plants, and which techniques help reduce the time and effort required for garden maintenance.
Special attention will be given to the use of mulch: whether it is necessary, which types of mulch are best suited to different situations, and how to avoid common mistakes. The lecture will also explain the use of geotextiles — when they are beneficial, when it is better to avoid them, and how to install and secure them correctly so they truly simplify garden care rather than create additional problems.
Lecturer: garden designer Ieva Krauze
