Liepāja Featured on Intrepid Travel’s 2027 Not Hot List
9 September 2026 – Liepāja, Latvia, has been named in Intrepid Travel’s annual Not Hot List, recognising ten of the world’s most exciting, under-the-radar destinations to watch in 2027.
Saturday, June 20, from 12:00 to 16:00, the “Ventspils Street Creative Courtyard” event will take place in Kuldīga, in the courtyard of the Community House, at Ventspils Street 16. The event is part of the “Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027” programme.
The event invites residents and visitors of Ventspils Street (Kuldīga) to come together to discover, preserve, and celebrate the unique cultural and historical heritage of this place. During the event, the Community House courtyard will become a creative gathering space where neighbours’ talents, seniors’ wisdom and life experience, and collaboratively created stories will shape a special experience for both local residents and Kuldīga visitors.
The programme will include storytelling, creative activities, and community engagement initiatives designed to strengthen cooperation and foster the development of new traditions.
Through the stories of the Ventspils Street courtyard and the active participation of residents, the diversity and significance of local culture will be showcased, demonstrating that great culture begins in small courtyards, where history is not merely part of the past but a living and authentic heritage.
The aim of the event is to foster long-term community collaboration, strengthen the sense of belonging, and develop the Community House courtyard into a significant cultural and experiential destination in Kuldīga, in preparation for welcoming visitors in 2027.
The project “Ventspils Street Creative Courtyard” is organized by the association “Kuldīga Senior School” as part of the “Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027” project programme.
