The Land of (un)rest made its way to the Daugavpils City Festival

9. June, 2026

From June 5 to 7, “Liepāja 2027” travelled to the largest city in Latgale — Daugavpils, which this year celebrated its 751st anniversary. During the vibrant city festival, “Liepāja 2027” volunteers were actively and energetically engaged, introducing festival visitors to Liepāja, the municipalities of South Kurzeme and Kuldīga, as well as upcoming significant cultural events.

We were truly pleased to make the long journey to meet so many interested visitors from the (un)restful land and to invite them through conversations to discover Liepāja both this year and next, when the city will hold the title of European Capital of Culture and welcome guests from near and far. These encounters were a valuable opportunity to share stories about the cultural life of the region and to inspire visitors to rediscover Kurzeme.

The event proved to be both successful and inspiring — we were sincerely glad to take part in the Daugavpils celebrations and to meet so many open, curious, and welcoming people.

A heartfelt thank you to our wonderful volunteers, who enthusiastically distributed information materials, spoke with visitors, and shared stories about Liepāja, its offerings, and the upcoming European Capital of Culture year.
