
Open Call for Artists: CreArt Exhibition in Oulu during the European Month of Creativity

CreArt Network of Cities for Artistic Creation invites visual artists from the CreArt network to apply for an exhibition at Galleria MABD in Oulu, Finland, as part of the European Month of Creativity in May 2025.
This is a fantastic opportunity to be part of an international art event, showcase your work to Oulu’s residents and visitors, and build new connections across Europe.
Who can apply?
Organisers welcome visual artists from CreArt 3.0 network cities, including Liepāja. This is a chance to represent our city and bring Liepāja’s artistic diversity to a European audience.
What are they looking for?
Organisers seek an exhibition with a clear concept, which is either easily transportable to Oulu or can be produced on-site. The goal is to create an inspiring artistic experience that will engage a broad audience.
What does CreArt Oulu and Galleria MABD offer?
- €500 artist fee
- Travel expenses and accommodation covered for installation and the exhibition opening (4–8 May 2025)
- International visibility – the exhibition is part of the European Month of Creativity and will be widely promoted

- Exhibition period: 7–25 May 2025 (installation: 5–6 May, vernissage: 6 May)

To enrich the programme of Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027 with innovative, cross-sectoral, contemporary and outstanding cultural events, hence boosting the international cooperation, the Liepāja 2027 Foundation is launching an open international competition for the co-financing of cultural and artistic initiatives. The deadline for submissions is 10:00 a.m. (EEST/Latvian time) on 10 September 2025.
