Open Call: CREART 3.0 Artist Residency in Leipzig (Germany) from September to November 2025

The Croatian Association of Fine Artists (HDLU) invites artists to apply for a residency program in Leipzig, Germany, from September 1st to November 30th, 2025.
The project De/Construction of Painting engages contemporary art practices and explores the concept of images and painting within cultural and industrial contexts.
Key questions addressed in the residency
- How is the concept of an image/painting a cultural construct within different dichotomies (such as Western vs. Eastern, industrial vs. post-industrial)?
- How do the media in which painting is created correspond to the representation of different realities?
- What is individual in an image/painting, and what is symbolic or universal
Residency Location: Spinnerei, Leipzig – a former industrial complex now serving as an art center with 12 galleries and over 100 resident artists.
Eligibility: The residency is open to young-generation artists from cities within the CreArt network. Applications are accepted until March 25th, 2025.
Support
- Travel expenses up to 400 EUR.
- 1,000 EUR artist fee.
- 600 EUR production costs.
- Accommodation and shared workspace in Leipzig.
