Liepāja 2027 takes part in the “Latvia Focus” forum in Finland

26. April, 2026

On Saturday, 25 April, the forum “Latvia in Focus” took place in Helsinki, bringing together diaspora entrepreneurs, professionals from various sectors, and students living in Finland.

During the forum, Inta Šoriņa, Chair of the Board of the foundation “Liepāja 2027”, informed the Latvian diaspora in Finland about the project “Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027” and the opportunities for participation it offers. She also introduced Liepāja as an attractive tourist destination, highlighting the city’s opportunities for business development as well as other aspects of urban life.

The aim of the “Latvia in Focus” forum is to inform Latvian entrepreneurs, professionals from various fields, students, and other diaspora activists in Finland about current geopolitical and economic developments in Latvia, as well as to facilitate the exchange of contacts and ideas among Latvians abroad, thereby promoting cooperation between entrepreneurs and the diaspora both in Latvia and internationally.

The event is organised by the World Federation of Free Latvians in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Latvia, the Embassy of the Republic of Latvia in the Republic of Finland, the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia, the State Employment Agency, the Latvian Exporters Association “The Red Jackets”, and the Latvian Society in Finland “LAIVAS”.

Many thanks to the organisers for the warm welcome!
