Karas Gallery, a contemporary art centre in Zagreb, Croatia, is launching the Karas+Kvart collaboration programme, bringing together local and international artists to create artworks inspired by the surrounding environment.
The aim of the residency is to develop an interactive, energy self-sufficient installation made from locally available materials and influenced by the environmental conditions of a specific micro-location within the designated urban area. The project will be implemented in collaboration with artist Vana Gaćina.
Funding and conditions
- Application deadline: 28 February 2026
- The call is open to emerging artists from the CreArt network.
- Preference will be given to artists interested in art and science (bioart, biohacking, DIY/DIWO), experimental media, interactive installations, as well as sustainable energy.
- Residency support includes accommodation, travel expenses up to €400, an artist fee of €1,200, a daily allowance of €30, and additional benefits.
