One of the programme’s key goals is to encourage the creation of high-quality, imaginative projects that may later be submitted to Liepāja 2027 competitions or secure support from other funding streams. The third Kurzeme Cultural Forum took place on September 11 at the Nīca Culture House, bringing together more than 200 cultural professionals, artists, students, and other interested parties from across the region.

On the evening of September 11, four poets, three languages, and contemporary jazz came together on stage at the “Wiktorija”. The poets — Sabine Huynh (France), Gökçenur Ç (Turkey), Gunta Šnipke, and Roberts Vilsons — participated in a collaborative exchange, blending their voices and styles.

On September 27 at 18:00 audiences at Liepāja Concert Hall “Great Amber” will have the chance to experience a concert program to Latvia, which is dedicated to the centenary of the 20th-century revolutionary of contemporary music and brilliant composer Pierre Boulez.

The Liepāja 2027 Foundation is opening applications for an international youth training and mentoring programme for the 2025/2026 academic year, aimed at young people aged 14 to 24 from Liepāja, South Kurzeme and Kuldīga.

From 9 to 20 September, Liepāja will once again host the Poetry Days, this year with a programme dedicated to the 160th anniversary of Rainis – the poet, dramatist and thinker, whose work forms the bedrock of Latvian literature and culture.
