Open Courtyard Festival

On Saturday, 12 September 2026, from 1.00 to 4.00 p.m., the Open Courtyard Festival will take place in the historic centre of Aizpute. The event is part of the “Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027” programme and also takes place within the framework of the European Heritage Days 2026. Owners of historic buildings will open their courtyards and invite visitors to discover places that are usually hidden from passers-by.

Residents and visitors are invited to explore Aizpute’s Old Town at a leisurely pace, moving from one courtyard to another and discovering the town through its historic buildings, people and stories. Each courtyard will offer a different experience – conversations with the owners, stories about the history and restoration of the buildings, exhibitions, creative activities, food and tea.
