Directing sketches and play readings. Festival “Theatre in Close-Up”

Continuation of the Liepāja Theater Dramaturgs’ Summer Residencies

In 2024, for the first time, Liepāja Theatre hosted an event featuring directing sketches and play readings, where audiences had the opportunity to watch scenes from productions envisioned by emerging directors, performed by professional actors, and to listen to excerpts from new plays developed during summer playwriting residencies.

In 2026, this tradition will continue as part of the festival – audiences can look forward to meeting not only new directors and playwrights, but also experienced professionals and accomplished actors.
