“Salmon Songs” is an interdisciplinary cultural and environmental project designed to raise awareness about salmon conservation and combat illegal fishing in Latvian rivers. The initiative blends music, educational activities, and community participation to engage both locals and visitors in protecting the natural environment.
Creative workshops in Kuldīga (2026 – 2027) bring together artists, biologists, young people and local residents to develop ideas for protecting the river ecosystem. Bonfire concerts, storytelling evenings and a concert series along the River Venta reinforce the link between music, place and community.
Research and educational campaigns use digital tools to encourage public involvement in salmon conservation, while sustainable stage solutions and nature‑friendly infrastructure are also developed as part of the project.
