The opening night also features world-renowned artist Ryoichi Kurokawa, who explores how nature and man-made structures get along together through an architectural lens. Kurokawa gathered the video footage for his live show right on Liepāja’s doorstep – drawing inspiration from the dramatic fortifications at Karosta – before transforming it all into a massive, unforgettable audiovisual spectacle. Kurokawa’s works have wowed crowds across the globe, including at Tate Modern, the Centre Pompidou, the Palais de Tokyo, and the Venice Biennale.
