From 20 to 26 November, the 25th Festival Academy took place in Chemnitz — the European Capital of Culture 2025 — bringing together 32 festival organisers from around the world.

The city of Valladolid, Spain, has announced an open call and invites illustrators, photographers, and new media artists to submit their projects for the 13th edition of the “CreaVA 2026” festival, which will take place from April 24 to May 30, 2026. Application deadline: January 18.

In July 2025, the Liepāja 2027 Foundation, in cooperation with the Japanese non-profit organisation “EU – Japan Fest,” invited Latvian photographers to apply for the international residency project “European Eyes on Japan | Japan Today”. 64 photographers submitted applications, and 15 of them were shortlisted for the second round.
