The Liepāja 2027 Foundation by partnering with the Tartu 2024 Foundation, is launching a new international cooperation initiative called “Youth Connect” as part of the Interreg Estonia-Latvia programme.
As a result of the Liepāja 2027 Youth Pilot Project idea competition, a unique solstice night event called Ravegrieži will take place on June 20, the eve of the Līgo festival, in the heart of Kuldīga – at the hangar on Piltenes Street 25a. The event will run from 21:00 to 02:00, offering a one-of-a-kind experience in the spirit of the summer solstice.
This spring, a youth delegation from Liepāja participated in the exchange project “CREATE.U X Youth Exchange”, organized by the European Capital of Culture Chemnitz 2025 (Chemnitz, Germany).
Over the weekend, 30 young people from Liepāja, South Kurzeme and Kuldīga took to the stage to present their culture venue development ideas as part of the Liepāja 2027 youth development pilot programme.
The four-day programme was full of diverse experiences – from exploring the city of Liepāja to engaging in conversations on important topics such as accessibility in culture and the role of youth within it.
The goal of the Youth Programme is to promote active youth participation in the development and implementation of the Liepāja – European Capital of Culture 2027 programme
These skills will be essential as they gradually develop a cultural event concept that will be evaluated by a jury.
