Launching the month of Liepāja’s 400th anniversary celebration, the Liepāja Holy Trinity Cathedral on Saturday, 1 March 2025, at 17:00 will host a sacred music concert, “Caur gaismu nāk un sudrabs top” (Through Light Cometh Silver Shine).
This concert performance “Personal Code: Liepāja” is designed to symbolically and emotionally capture the essence of Liepāja – its identity, core values, and spirit.
The festival will take place in Liepāja, Latvia, in August 2027 and will be organised in close cooperation with the Latvian Song Celebrations Society and Foundation Liepaja 2027.
They have prepared an elegant and refreshing program, including Maurice Ravel’s Piano Trio, Felix Mendelssohn’s Second Piano Trio, and Peteris Vasks’ “Landscapes of the Plain.”
The program’s special guest, pianist Vestards Šimkus, will enhance the evening with music by Italian orchestral color master Ottorino Respighi.
The exhibition will feature works of virtual and augmented reality, art installations, and results from workshops held as part of the UPDATE Media Art and Technology Festival.
Let’s celebrate our nation’s freedom and independence together!
This exhibition, dedicated to the museum’s centenary, features 44 instruments from LNRMM’s collection, spanning from the early 18th century to the present day.
Thanks to the digital capabilities of Liepāja’s concert hall “Lielais dzintars,” listeners worldwide will have the chance to enjoy a live-streamed concert on November 16 at 18:00 (Latvian time) to celebrate Latvia’s 106th anniversary.
