This year, as Liepāja celebrates its grand 400th anniversary, the Radio Theatre marks its own milestone by presenting four brand-new audio plays – each crafted in the spirit of the city.

This luminous journey will unite over twenty illuminated landmarks under the theme “Creative Foresight,” exploring the delicate dance between art and technology.

Following an evaluation process, 16 projects have been awarded financial support.

The total number of overnight stays surged by 10%, reaching 216,326 nights – once again surpassing the previous year’s record.

A grand celebration awaits as Liepāja marks its 400th anniversary with a spectacular concert performance, “Personal Code: Liepāja”, on 18 March at 19:00.

During the opening events, Nova Gorica and Gorizia symbolically came together to embrace a world without borders, highlighting how culture can break down barriers and unite cities, people, and nations.

On February 7 and 8, Berči Hall at the Romas Dārzs hosted vocal and guitar masterclasses for singer-songwriters, organized by Austras biedrība.

Through the techniques and tasks offered by the lecturer, participants had the opportunity to reflect on how to adapt Liepāja’s cultural offerings to the local context and how to create future steps to ensure everyone feels part of our city’s cultural life.

This is more than just an invitation—it is an opportunity to leave an indelible mark on an event that will echo through the city’s history for generations to come.
