Work Day in the Polīši Ravines, Vārme, Kuldīgas Municipality
20-06-2026 | 10:00
As part of the summer solstice celebrations, on Saturday, June 20, we invite you to explore the Polīši ravines and the sandstone outcrops along the banks of the Šķēde river while taking part in a community work day. Together, we will clear sections of the trail and install wooden signposts to improve access to this unique natural area.
Please wear comfortable clothing and sturdy footwear suitable for outdoor work. Work gloves will be provided, although you are welcome to bring your own.
From 16:00 onwards, participants are invited to relax and unwind in the country sauna.
How to Get There? The Polīši Ravines are located in Vārme Parish, Kuldīga Municipality. The site can be accessed from the direction of the “Māli” homestead in Šķēde Parish, Saldus Municipality.
This event is part of the project “Relief: Polīši Ravines in Kuldīga Municipality”, which implements a community-building programme based on cooperation, participation, and shared responsibility for the preservation of the Polīši Ravines.
Located on the edge of the Land of (un)rest in Vārme Parish, the Polīši Ravines are a unique natural area where peaceful forest trails, steep sandstone cliffs, and the ever-changing flow of the Šķēde River come together to create a landscape shaped by both tranquillity and natural forces.
The event is organized with financial support from the Foundation “Nodibinājums Liepāja 2027”.
