“(un)rest Midsummer” is a contemporary Midsummer celebration that combines traditional Latvian Midsummer customs with the creativity and modern perspectives of young people. The event aims to introduce participants to the festive traditions of their ancestors while providing opportunities to interpret and express them in contemporary ways.
During the event, participants will be invited to take part in a variety of creative and educational activities. The program includes gathering Midsummer herbs and exploring their symbolic meanings, preparing traditional festive foods, creating decorations and bonfires, and participating in poetry and storytelling workshops.
The event will also feature group dances, games, and other festive activities designed to encourage cooperation and active engagement among participants.
Special attention will be given to bringing together young people from different cultural backgrounds, including international participants, and fostering cooperation among them.
