Students of Liepāja Music, Art and Design High School, working alongside craftsmen, mentors and international guest lecturers, will explore the transformation of traditional materials into contemporary design solutions. Through experimentation and prototype development, the project places an emphasis on sustainability and responsible material circulation.
The programme includes public guest lectures, collaborative creative work, a final exhibition in Liepāja and a travelling exhibition abroad, extending the project’s reach beyond the region.
The aim of the project is to support the continuity of traditional craft skills by integrating them into contemporary design practice, while encouraging sustainable, thoughtful and balanced design approaches that strengthen cultural heritage and foster cooperation within the Liepāja region.
