Attend our Discussion on Access to Inclusive Culture for Different Groups

On Tuesday, 18 June, at 15:00, the Liepāja 2027 Foundation (Liepāja 2027) invites you to an informal meeting with experts from Latvia and Japan on the accessibility and promotion of inclusive culture in Liepāja, Latvia, and globally.

Lība Bērziņa, an expert on inclusive culture, will discuss the current situation in Latvia and Liepāja regarding cultural access for various community target groups, including people with visual, hearing, mobility, and mental disabilities. She will also provide practical advice on promoting the inclusion of different groups in cultural events. The second part of the talk will feature a discussion with Tengyo Kura, a Japanese inclusive culture promoter, who will share his experiences from Japan and around the world. The final part of the event will be an informal discussion with the “Liepāja 2027” team.

The first part of the meeting will be held in Latvian and the second in English.

Lība Bērziņa has over 15 years of experience in inclusive culture. She is an art therapist and designer, certified as an environmental accessibility expert, and has extensive experience working with various community groups, including people with physical, visual, hearing, and mental disabilities. Lība Bērziņa trains and lectures on cultural accessibility throughout Latvia and collaborates with institutions such as the Latvian Centre for Contemporary Art, the Latvian New Theatre Institute, and other cultural and arts organizations.

Tengyo Kura is a Japanese communication artist who calls himself a vagabond (wonderer of the world). He has travelled from Japan to the USA, India, Mongolia, Sri Lanka, Norway, Kyrgyzstan, and Latvia, using his teaching skills to build multidisciplinary connections between people of different nationalities.
