Invitation to Join the Liepāja 2027 Volunteer Programme – Mission (un)rest
To foster greater public participation in cultural life, support the successful implementation of various events, strengthen international cooperation and knowledge exchange, encourage personal growth and skill development, and enhance awareness of culture and its significance, the foundation “Liepāja 2027” invites to apply for its Volunteer Programme. This initiative will continue until the end of 2027.
Volunteers of the “Liepāja 2027” will receive comprehensive training and all necessary materials to ensure they feel comfortable and confident in their roles. This includes a dedicated set of volunteer workwear and identification badges. Culture thrives on the energy of those who shape it, and now, you have the chance to be at the heart of it all. This is your opportunity to leave a mark on the cultural landscape, support the making of unforgettable events, strengthen international connections, and foster personal growth, all while championing the essence of culture and its significance in our daily lives.
The programme offers a chance to be involved in the organisation of diverse cultural events while also gaining exclusive behind-the-scenes insights before they are publicly announced.
“No prior experience in cultural events is required – we’ll guide you every step of the way! If you’re curious about the European Capital of Culture celebrations, eager to learn, and have some time to spare, we welcome you with open arms,” says Izabella Džeriņa, Volunteer Programme Coordinator for Liepāja 2027.
Flexibility is at the heart of this programme, allowing volunteers to participate according to their own availability and strengths. Tasks will be matched to individual skills and interests, ensuring that every contribution is both meaningful and enjoyable. The programme welcomes not only residents of Liepāja, South Kurzeme, and Kuldīga but also international participants aged 13 and above who are eager to contribute.
Volunteers will take on a variety of roles, from greeting visitors with warmth and enthusiasm, guiding crowds with ease, and checking tickets, to gathering valuable insights from eventgoers, distributing essential materials, assisting attendees with disabilities, and ensuring that up-to-date event information reaches those who need it.
Beyond the events themselves, this programme is an open door to a world of new skills, friendships, and personal development. Whether you’re drawn to event planning, creative expression, communication, or leadership, you will find a space to learn and grow. Participants will connect with like-minded individuals, forge lasting relationships, and refine their foreign language abilities in a dynamic, multicultural setting.
Applications for the Liepāja 2027 Volunteer Programme open on 26 March and will be accepted until 14 April.
