From 16 to 18 January, the Liepāja Region Tourism Information Office (Liepāja Travel), in cooperation with the Tourism Department of the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA / Latvia Travel), took part in the international Nordic travel fair “MATKA 2026” in Helsinki.
“CreArt Kaunas” (Lithuania) in collaboration with the Kaunas Artists’ House announces an open call for environmental artists to create art installations to be placed in public spaces along the Nemunas River in Kaunas. Application deadline: 25 February 2026.
The 2028 European Capital of Culture, České Budějovice (Czech Republic), invites artists to apply for the “South Specific” festival – a unique theatre festival that combines live art with unusual venues across the South Bohemia region. Application deadline: 26 February 2026.
The aim of the project is to foster creative collaboration between LMMDV students, local craftspeople, and international designers, resulting in design prototypes based on locally sourced, environmentally friendly materials and traditional techniques, while exploring their contemporary interpretations.
The Liepāja 2027 Foundation has concluded its cultural tourism co-financing competition “Land of (un)rest, Tell Us Stories!”, announced in October 2025 and aimed at developing innovative and sustainable cultural tourism offers. Following the evaluation, nine projects have been awarded a total of EUR 87,012 in co-financing.

As part of the programme, Liepāja 2027 presented an interactive stand, “Liepāja Culture Glows with Warmth”, inviting festival visitors to experience the spirit of Liepāja and its summer atmosphere in the heart of the Nordic winter.

Representatives from different cultural and artistic fields, including interdisciplinary and creative industry projects, are invited to participate. Submissions for the competition, in order to be considered for financial support, will be accepted from 12 January 2026.
On Thursday, 8 January, the Liepāja Region Tourism Information Office (Liepāja Travel), in cooperation with the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA), participated in “TravelMatch” in Oslo—the largest tourism networking event in Norway.
The festival will take place from 18 to 20 June, and this year’s theme is “Transformation,” offering opportunities to experiment with light, landscape, and social context. Application deadline: 3 February 2026.
