An Opportunity for Young Artists to Study and Work in Venice
The Istituzione Fondazione Bevilacqua La Masa announces a call for applications to assign two young artists a space in Venice (at Palazzo Carminati in San Stae) where they can study and work for a period of five weeks: September 8 – October 10, 2025.

Open Call for CreArt artists: Ephemera Phestival in Valladolid (Spain)
EPHEMERA PHESTIVAL is the initiative of CreArt Valladolid and Cultura Valladolid to present contemporary art in the public space focusing on ephemeral interventions. This edition will take place between September 15–October 5, 2025.

Professional artists invited to apply for a residency in France
As part of its participation in the European CreArt program, the city of Rouen invites artists to apply for a joint residency at “Centre Culturel André-Malraux”. One artist will be selected from Rouen and one artist internationally. Artists from Liepāja are invited to use this opportunity.

Contemporary Art Exhibition “Unscheduled Sandy Meeting II” to Open at “Romas Dārzs” Art Gallery
On 11 July at 18:00, the Bertschy Hall of the Art Gallery “Romas Dārzs” will open its doors to the public with the exhibition “Unscheduled Sandy Meeting II” organized by the Foundation “Liepāja 2027”. The exhibition, which will run until 12 September, brings together 14 young artists from Liepāja who explore the post-war legacy of the Baltic Sea and the environmental issues shaping life along its shores.

Liepāja 2027 and the French Institute in Latvia Sign Memorandum of Cooperation
On Wednesday, 21 May, at the Great Amber Concert Hall, the Liepāja 2027 Foundation and the French Institute in Latvia officially launched a new strategic partnership by signing a memorandum of cooperation, laying the common groundwork for long-term collaboration that will shape the European Capital of Culture programme in Liepāja.


Liepāja 2027 team presents project readiness to the European Commission expert panel
On 14 May 2025, the Liepāja 2027 team took part in the second monitoring meeting organised by the European Commission, where we presented the project’s level of readiness to the European Capitals of Culture (ECOC) Expert Panel online.
