As part of the masterclass program supported by Liepāja 2027, on Saturday, March 15, a special event took place at the MIKC Liepāja Music, Art, and Design School’s Melngailis Concert Hall – a masterclass and concert dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the “Liepāja” Wind Orchestra.
The event was led by internationally recognized guest conductor Bert Langeler, who shared his over 40 years of experience with the orchestra musicians, offering valuable insights and practical advice. Under his guidance, the musicians improved both their technical and artistic skills, as well as strengthened their collective playing abilities.
Bert Langeler, who has been actively working in Estonia in recent years, continues to develop wind orchestra traditions, and this masterclass provided a unique opportunity to learn from an outstanding expert, contributing to long-term development and fostering international collaboration. The event concluded with a concert by the “Liepāja” Wind Orchestra.
This masterclass is an important step in the orchestra’s development, not only enhancing the musicians’ professional skills but also increasing the orchestra’s recognition beyond Latvia’s borders.
The masterclass is part of a project supported by the “Liepāja 2027” foundation, co-funded by the Liepāja City Municipality and the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Latvia.
