Seminar on European Union Funding Opportunities for Cultural and Social

Projects Held at the Liepāja 2027 Office On April 22nd the Liepāja 2027 office hosted a valuable and inspiring seminar on European Union funding opportunities for cultural and social projects.
The event, organised by the EU Cultural Contact Point of the Ministry of Culture and Liepāja 2027, brought together representatives from municipalities, cultural organisations, and civil society who were eager to learn more about the EU programmes Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values (CERV) and Creative Europe (RE).
The seminar was opened by Inta Šoriņa, Chair of the Board of the Liepāja 2027 Foundation, who offered an overview of current developments related to Liepāja as a European Capital of Culture. Zanda Bitere, International Projects and External Funding Specialist, presented the Liepāja 2027 mobility grants, which support international cooperation.
Opportunities and updates related to the CERV programme were introduced by consultants Zane Meļķe and Agnese Rubene, while Elva Lubāne, Public Relations Specialist at the Liepāja Municipal Police, shared a successful example of a project enhancing children’s participation in civil protection.
After a coffee break, the RE programme was presented by consultant Anastasija Konkina, and Sabīne Jermaloviča, Project Manager at Liepāja 2027, shared her experience with the RE CreArt project.
Participants not only learned about funding opportunities but also drew inspiration from implemented project examples – from enhancing children’s involvement in civil protection to creative international collaboration in the arts.
The mobility competitions that strengthen international ties and promote knowledge-sharing across Europe were of particular interest.
A big thank you to everyone who participated and shared their experiences, ideas, and questions!
