Young musicians from Tartu and Liepāja greet Liepāja on its 400th anniversary through a joint concert program

On April 8, the Chamber Hall of the Great Amber Concert Hall in Liepāja hosted a special concert uniting two European Capitals of Culture – Liepāja 2027 and Tartu 2024. Young musicians from Karosta Music School (Liepāja) and Tartu Valla Music School came together to offer a musical tribute to Liepāja, continuing the city’s 400th anniversary celebrations.

Students from the Liepāja Karosta Music School and Tartu Valla Muusikakool worked with renowned folk music and improvisation artist Julgī Stalte, preparing for the upcoming concert “Cheers to Liepāja! Young Musicians from Tartu and Liepāja Unite in a Musical Tribute for Liepāja 400”.

Contemporary Art Exhibition “Concerns. Crazy Days” at the Liepāja Peter’s Market (Pētertirgus)

The exhibition will run until the end of May, gathering a selection of established and emerging artists from Liepāja and Latvia, who will reflect on pressing contemporary issues while spotlighting the potential of unconventional venues in the city as platforms for contemporary art.
