Mission (un)rest: Volunteer Programme Officially Launched in Liepāja

16. June, 2025

Officially launching the Volunteer Programme, more than 40 participants of Liepāja 2027’s “Mission (un)rest” gathered on 14 June at the Liepāja Latvian Society House to learn about the significance of the European Capital of Culture title, its vision, and the upcoming journey ahead.

The aim of the training was to build a shared understanding of the programme, to provide knowledge and inspiration so our volunteers can confidently step into their roles as active represantatives of Liepāja 2027. We believe a volunteer is not just a helper – they are an essential part of the story, shaping the atmosphere and experience of every event for every visitor.

Sharing their experience and insights during the training were:

  • Inta Šoriņa, Chair of the Board, Liepāja 2027
  • Izabella Džeriņa, Volunteer Programme Coordinator, Liepāja 2027
  • Justīne Rusakova, Community Engagement Project Manager, Liepāja 2027
  • Ints Teterovskis, Volunteer Coordinator, Riga European Capital of Culture 2014 – our special guest, who shared valuable lessons, good practices, and warm invitations from the volunteer programme of Riga – European Capital of Culture 2014.

Thank you for being part of Mission (un)rest! See you at the next events!
