Partners of the (un)rest programme meet in Liepāja for the second time
On Wednesday, 25 March, the second meeting of the (un)rest programme partners took place in Liepāja.
Today, the European Capital of Culture 2027 team met with the partners who joined hands to bid for the title – Mayors of Liepāja, South Kurzeme Region and Kuldīga municipalities and discussed the project’s progress and current updates.
The meeting took place in amidst the beautiful paintings by Jānis Ferdinands Tīdemanis.
The team discussed the basic principles of the existing cooperation, the artistic programme projects, and the planned governance structure, distribution of funding and common challenges.
All participants agreed that this cooperation strengthens not only the Kurzeme Region, but also the common cultural space of Latvia.
In the coming weeks, intensive work will continue on the preparation of the application to be submitted to the international jury in early April.

On Tuesday, 24 March, the “Lielais Dzintars” Concert Hall hosted the Tourism Entrepreneurs’ Conference, bringing together professionals from the tourism sector across Kurzeme.
From 17 to 20 March, Inta Šoriņa, Chair of the Board of the Liepāja 2027 Foundation, represented Liepāja 2027 in Tokyo, Japan, where the EU–Japan Fest “34th General Committee Meeting” took place.
